How could a hares ears help to control it's body temperature in a hot summer?

Serious question.

Needed for biology stuff and I'm crap at science. ThanksHow could a hares ears help to control it's body temperature in a hot summer?
There are lots of blood vessels in the hare's ear. Blood travelling through them has a chance to cool off, lowering the temperature of the hare's body as it returns. This is known as Allen's Rule. Compare the sizes of the ears of snowshoe hares with those of jackrabbits.
