1993 Nissan Maxima temperature control closes only 3/4 of the way to the cold side. Need a simple fix.?

The switch moves all the way to the hot side and works fine. But the switch moves only 3/4 to the cold side. Worked fine for 13 years, now will not move to the end of the cold side. Not getting the full benefit of cold air. Need a simple do it yourself fix.1993 Nissan Maxima temperature control closes only 3/4 of the way to the cold side. Need a simple fix.?
Ok,you mant a simple fix so here's what to do.Check the cable at the a/c vent assembly. There is a chance that the cable may need lubrication. If so,use white lithium grease. Also, there could be an obstruction where the cable opens and closes.Drop anything down the vent?Like a pen, coins, etc??Any of these items could be wedged, causing the cable not to do its' job properly. Finally, try manually moving the lever with your hand after removing the clip hlding the cable on.If it moves freely, then you'll be sure it is the cable itself.Good Luck1993 Nissan Maxima temperature control closes only 3/4 of the way to the cold side. I had a 91' Accord that had the same issue. Took out the heating/ac control panel %26amp; found that the clip that held the control cable on had broken. It was setup like a push/pull %26amp; the pull side had broken. If you don't feel comfortable, get yourself a haynes or clymer manual - at walmart or autozone. They are worth having anyway.
